Jordyn Smith is a certified Evolutionary Astrologer, educator, tutor, lecturer, and researcher. She received her certification through the Jeffrey Wolf Green Evolutionary Astrology School and has been practicing astrology professionally for nearly a decade.

Her professional work has included private consulting, individual astrology tutoring, workshops, teaching for multiple astrological associations, and conference lecturing. She has spoken at the JWG AEA Conference for three consecutive years and is scheduled to lecture at UAC 2026.

She is based in Western Massachusetts, where she lives with her two children and four animals on three acres of land. Her journey into astrology began during her Saturn Return while living in her hometown of Oklahoma City.

What began as part of Jordyn's own healing and spiritual journey gradually became a much larger inquiry into consciousness, psychological development, meaning, free will, identity, and the evolution of the soul.

Jordyn is also completing her degree in philosophy, with hopes of eventually pursuing doctoral study. Her philosophical education has become increasingly intertwined with her astrological work, particularly through questions surrounding knowledge, ethics, free will, determinism, consciousness, meaning, natural law, and the assumptions underlying the systems through which we understand ourselves and the world.

Over time, astrology became more than a system she used to interpret birth charts. It became another language through which she could explore questions she had already been asking throughout much of her life:

What shapes who we become?
What do we inherit from our families, cultures, relationships, and experiences?
What happens when we become conscious of those influences?
And what becomes possible when we recognize our capacity to choose?

Long before becoming a professional astrologer, Jordyn's work centered around trauma, adversity, identity, advocacy, and the ways people make meaning from difficult experiences.

She worked with adolescent girls experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction, using creative writing as a way to help them express and process experiences that were often difficult to communicate directly.

This work contributed to what would later become a continuing interest in the relationship between trauma, psychological adaptation, identity, attachment, self-understanding, and the possibility for growth following adversity.

Jordyn also worked extensively in advocacy surrounding domestic violence. She served as a keynote speaker for the Oklahoma City YWCA and United Way, helping to raise awareness about domestic violence and the experiences of women and families navigating abuse.

Her advocacy also extended into public policy, where she played a role in advancing legislation in Oklahoma supporting women and their parental rights.

In 2014, Jordyn consulted in connection with the remodeling of the Oklahoma City Justice Center, helping those involved better understand how the space, resources, and services could support women and families experiencing domestic violence and other forms of adversity.

Although this work preceded her formal study of astrology, the underlying questions have remained remarkably consistent.

How do people respond differently to similar circumstances?
How does adversity become incorporated into identity?
What helps someone move from adaptation toward authenticity?
And how do we understand the relationship between what happens to us and what we eventually choose to do with our experience?

Evolutionary Astrology gave Jordyn another framework through which to explore many of the questions that had already shaped her personal and professional life.

Rather than approaching astrology solely as a means of describing personality or predicting events, she became increasingly interested in what the birth chart might contribute to a broader inquiry into psychological development, consciousness, adaptation, meaning, and choice.

Her approach today brings astrology into sustained conversation with psychology, philosophy, and spirituality.

She is particularly interested in allowing each of these frameworks to question and illuminate the others.

Astrology offers symbolic and archetypal language through which patterns, relationships, and developmental themes can be explored.

Psychology contributes insight into trauma, attachment, identity, adaptation, development, relationships, and lived human experience.

Philosophy invites deeper questions about knowledge, ethics, truth, meaning, consciousness, free will, determinism, and the assumptions underlying the systems we use to understand ourselves.

Spirituality opens inquiry into soul, interconnectedness, consciousness, transcendence, and the meaning we make from our experiences.

Rather than assuming that any one system contains the complete answer, Jordyn is interested in what becomes visible through their agreements, tensions, contradictions, and unanswered questions.

For her, allowing these different ways of understanding human experience to inform and question one another can offer a fuller picture of what it means to live, develop, struggle, choose, and evolve as a soul.

Non Conformist Conscience reflects the philosophical foundation beneath Jordyn's work.

Non Conformist represents a willingness to question convention, inherited systems of belief, cultural conditioning, authority, and the assumptions we may have accepted before we ever had the opportunity to examine them for ourselves.

Nonconformity, in this sense, does not mean rejecting tradition simply because it is traditional. It means being willing to ask:

Where did this belief come from?
Why do I believe it?
Does it remain meaningful when I examine it?
Is this something I consciously choose, or something I simply inherited?

Conscience is what gives that questioning direction.

Jordyn understands conscience as our capacity for discernment — the ability to make meaningful judgments about what is ethical, what is harmful, what reflects our values, and what is in alignment with the deeper natural and universal principles by which we choose to live.

There is an important difference between being judgmental and making a judgment call.

Discernment does not require condemnation. It requires consciousness.

It asks us to consider what we are participating in, what consequences our choices create, what we understand to be true, and whether our actions are aligned with our conscience rather than simply with convention.

Questioning inherited beliefs is therefore not an end in itself. The deeper intention is to become conscious enough to participate more deliberately in what we believe, what we value, and how we choose to live.

What have we inherited?
What have we become conscious of?
And what will we choose?

Jordyn approaches astrology as a symbolic and evolutionary language for inquiry.

Rather than reducing a person to individual placements or separating symbols from the life in which they are being expressed, her work explores the relationships within the chart alongside the person's lived experience.

This may include questions surrounding identity, family and ancestral patterns, relationships, psychological development, trauma and adaptation, vocation, life transitions, meaning, spiritual development, and evolutionary themes that unfold over the course of a life.

Astrology consulting is approached as a collaborative process. The chart offers symbolic material, while the lived experience of the person sitting in front of it remains essential to the conversation.

A consultation may explore recurring patterns, changing circumstances, relationships, questions of identity and purpose, periods of transition, or areas of life that have become especially meaningful or difficult to understand.

Jordyn's role is not to tell someone what they should choose or to replace their own intuition, judgment, or conscience with an astrological interpretation.

Instead, consultation creates space to examine patterns, explore previously unconscious dynamics, consider different perspectives, and reflect more deeply on one's relationship to the experiences and choices present within a life.

The intention is not simply to provide answers.

It is to create space for better questions, deeper reflection, greater awareness, and more conscious participation in one's own life.

Teaching has become an important part of Jordyn's astrological work.

She works individually with students from a variety of Evolutionary Astrology schools and educational backgrounds, often helping them move beyond memorization and toward the ability to think, reason, and synthesize astrologically.

Many students come to tutoring because they understand individual concepts and techniques but struggle with how to bring them together when looking at an entire chart.

Tutoring is not simply about learning more definitions or techniques. The focus is on learning how to bring the pieces together — exploring the relationships between symbols, the context in which they are expressed, and the larger evolutionary story that emerges through the chart as a whole.

Rather than looking for one placement to explain a person or assuming that an astrological symbol has only one possible expression, tutoring encourages students to consider how symbols interact, how different dynamics modify one another, and how lived experience contributes to the way a chart is understood.

The intention is not to teach students to interpret charts exactly as Jordyn does.

It is to help them understand the underlying principles deeply enough that they can develop their own capacity to recognize relationships, explore context, ask meaningful questions, and think independently as astrologers.

Jordyn's work includes research, writing, workshops, teaching, and professional lecturing.

Her conference and teaching work has included specialized and lesser-known asteroid material, while her broader research continues to expand into the intersections between astrology, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and lived experience.

Her current areas of inquiry include trauma and post-traumatic growth, attachment, identity, authenticity, psychological adaptation, consciousness, evolutionary development, and the different ways similar astrological signatures may be lived across different individuals.

Another significant area of Jordyn's research involves gender, mythology, and the inherited language through which astrological archetypes have traditionally been understood.

She is particularly interested in examining the ways psychological and emotional dynamics have historically been categorized as "masculine" or "feminine," and whether those classifications always reflect the full range of human lived experience.

Many astrological symbols and myths emerged within cultures that carried particular assumptions about gender, sexuality, relationships, social roles, power, and identity. Jordyn is interested in what happens when those inherited frameworks are examined rather than simply repeated.

Her inquiry asks whether qualities traditionally described as feminine or masculine may sometimes be better understood as natural psychological, emotional, relational, or archetypal dynamics that belong to the human experience rather than to one gender.

This does not require discarding mythology or the historical traditions from which astrology developed. Instead, it creates an opportunity to ask what those stories reveal, what cultural assumptions they may carry, and how their symbolism might be understood in ways that are more inclusive of the complexity of lived experience.

This line of inquiry has also informed Jordyn's work with asteroids and mythology, including her teaching around archetypes that have historically been framed primarily through the experience of women or the "feminine."

She is particularly interested in the questions that arise when astrological concepts are placed in conversation with lived experience and other ways of understanding human development.

Why can similar astrological symbolism appear so differently between people? What role might environment, attachment, trauma, consciousness, culture, relationships, development, gender conditioning, and choice play in the way a symbolic pattern becomes lived?

What can psychology contribute to an astrological interpretation? What assumptions are embedded within astrological language itself? What happens when philosophical inquiry asks us to examine concepts such as fate, evolution, free will, causation, gender, archetype, truth, and knowledge more carefully?

Her continuing study of philosophy is becoming an increasingly important part of this work, offering additional tools for examining questions of free will, determinism, ethics, knowledge, consciousness, meaning, natural law, identity, and the philosophical assumptions underlying astrology itself.

Writing remains another important part of how Jordyn processes and develops these ideas.

Through essays, educational videos, lectures, workshops, teaching, and ongoing research, Non Conformist Conscience provides a place where questions can be explored without requiring them to be prematurely resolved.

Jordyn does not believe that questioning astrology diminishes its value.

For her, serious engagement with any system includes a willingness to examine its assumptions, ask where its ideas come from, consider how they correspond with lived experience, and remain open to what other fields of knowledge may contribute.

The same curiosity extends beyond astrology.

Psychological theories can be questioned. Philosophical assumptions can be questioned. Spiritual beliefs can be questioned. Cultural conventions can be questioned. Mythological interpretations can be questioned. Ideas about gender and identity can be questioned. Even the beliefs we hold most personally can be examined more deeply.

Inquiry also means allowing uncertainty to remain when a question has not yet produced a satisfying answer.

The purpose of questioning is not simply to dismantle what came before, nor is it to replace one inherited system of certainty with another.

It is to become more conscious of what we inherit, what we believe, how those beliefs have been shaped, what our experiences reveal, and what we ultimately choose to carry forward.

Whether through astrology consulting, tutoring, writing, research, lectures, workshops, or conversation, this remains the underlying intention of Jordyn's work:
