Mars in Capricorn, Neptune Square Mercury & Capricorn New Moon

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has reached out over the last three months and still continued to watch the astrology shows I have been on, book sessions with me, and supported me in my work. I have been in a deep internal process and felt like I needed to take a break from the weekly forecasts for a bit as a way to recharge my internal battery. Let’s jump into your weekly forecast for the week of January 7th to the 13th.

Before I begin going into each day of this week, I wanted to take a moment to talk about Mars transit through the sign of Capricorn. Mars is the planet of initiation, self-leadership, and what we desire in life on a Soul level. In our natal charts it speaks to these dynamics on a personal level. If Pluto is the Soul, Mars are the desires that emanate from within our Soul that help us to evolve. It is about our fighting warrior spirit and our independence. It is also about the lessons we learn from the choices we make stemming from our desires. It teaches us about how to respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively. When we look at Mars through transit it corresponds with the lessons and desires that can be coming up in tandem with our own natal Mars. With Mars also ruling the transiting North Node in Aries we can see that relationships and independence are the lessons we are learning right now on a more broad and collective level in the most generalized sense. With Mars being naturally ruled by Aries and a fire sign/planet the need for freedom and independence can be strong. With transiting Mars in a yin sign, Capricorn, there can be a paradox of needing to go out into the world but yet grounding within ourselves as we do so or the need to retreat go within without the escape of external interactions. Capricorn is Earth, grounding, yin (energy moving inwards). Within the archetype of Capricorn, we learn lessons that correlate to where and what we could or have been suppressing or repressing, where we feel oppressed. Capricorn teaches us about being our own natural authority in our lives, how to be responsible with our actions and integral. It also teaches us about self-determination and how to be self-motivated to do so. What I mean by self-responsibility is that we are ultimately responsible for ourselves, our own healing, and our own choices. This is interesting to think about because Capricorn correlates with reflection and wisdom gained by direct experience, but also, correct judgment making stemming from reflection and discernment. With Mars now being conditioned by Capricorn we can have external experiences triggered to help us to learn these lessons and to self-reflect on prior instances that now correspond to what is happening in the present moment as a way to be more integral through correct judgment. Desires emanating within revolving around how to show up in society and in the world at large, our goals we have that we want to achieve, and how to be a natural leader. Desires that might have been suppressed in the past that are now being uncorked from within us in order to act on them or at the very least to reflect and make a choice, correct judgment on whether or not they should be acted upon. With the Nodal axis being involved with Mars right now, we can be learning about how to take responsibility for our own emotional development, this pulls in the polarity of Capricorn, Cancer. Lessons about how to emotionally regulate as an act of self-determination and being our own authority from the inside out. This is pulling in the South Node in Libra. This speaks to how right now we can be having relational issues surface that we are desiring to deal with through an internal process and as again, an act of self-determination regarding emotional validation coming from within ourselves as opposed to giving our authority away to another and expecting (Libra) another to do it for us instead of doing it for ourselves. Work, relationships, and family external events can be triggered right now because on a soul level through this transit we are desiring to deal with them and to make correct judgment calls on how to do so through reflecting on the past and what is now resurfacing. How do you step outside of your own internal status quo? Are you able to do so? Are you able to be your own authority in your life or are you expecting another to do for you what you are suppressing within yourself right now? Through this transit how can you be the role-model that you need? How can you reparent yourself if necessary and access the child within? What goals can you set in order to do so? Within the sign of Capricorn there is also the lesson of self-determination. This can go deep. For some there can be instances activated right now that seem to be the past recycling not because you haven’t learned the lesson, but because on a soul level we are wanting to test ourselves to see if we are self-determined to not be who we once were. These are just some of the dynamics that can come up throughout this transit through Capricorn. The other thing that is worth mentioning is that through this transit, Mars will be ruled by Saturn in the sign of Pisces. This corresponds to getting in touch with our consciousness and what needs to be dissolved from within, then implementing our desires as a way to be self-determined to continue navigating this process of dissolving and culminating the old ways of interacting with others and on an internal level, with ourselves.

On the 7th the Moon in Scorpio will be in a last quarter sextile to its ruler, Pluto in the sign of Capricorn. This happens just before it enters the lighthearted sign of Sagittarius. With the Moon in Scorpio, we are called to get in touch with our emotional and psychological makeup, the things that make us ‘tic’, and to dive deep inside in order to uncover what wants to be known and exposed about ourselves. With the Moon being ruled by Pluto in Capricorn, we are called to take a stance on our own emotional development and to dissolve what no longer is serving us on a soul level (Saturn in Pisces ruling Pluto). We may be working with internal dynamics that are about what we have ideals around and why. Scorpio and Pluto are about getting to the bottom of whatever needs to be jettisoned from within that is no longer serving through the exposing of the inner dynamics. The last quarter sextile between the Moon and Pluto corresponds to the need to actualize ourselves and to integrate whatever wisdom (Capricorn) we unearth during this process. The key is to not fall back on old ways of feeling secure but to implement new ways of understanding our internal security through self-determination. Later on, in the day the Moon will move into the sign of Sagittarius where we then get to take that information and expand upon it to reveal deeper layers of what feels true for each one of us on personal levels.

On the 8th, Mars in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn in Pisces will be in a last quarter sextile to its ruler, Saturn. The last quarter phase can bring forth feelings of what to believe or what action to take, especially revolving around what new steps or direction to go in but the fear of the known and familiar way of being and doing things can be a form of self-repression. With Mars in Capricorn sextile to its ruler Saturn in Pisces this can revolve around taking the necessary action (Mars) and self-determination (Capricorn) to reflect on what needs to be released and healed in our lives as an act of stepping outside of our own personal status quo. This can revolve around the ways in which we have structured reality (Capricorn/Saturn) and how those structures can stem from manmade conditioning and/or ideals that we have used to understand life itself. With the sextile we can understand what needs to be released and culminated, but with the last quarter phase we can be scared to integrate the ‘new’. Just for that reason, it is new and hasn’t been done before, that can induce fear for some because of not knowing how things will go if we choose to do so. The beauty with Pisces is that we can have faith. As long as our intentions are sincere, we can rest in knowing that whatever is needed will be given to us and that we can have inner guidance bestowed upon us through this new journey to self-actualize in a new way. This can revolve around what to do relationally or professionally. This astrological conversation speaks to taking that leap of faith after you have self-reflected and pulled from the internal databank of wisdom held within.

Neptune the ruler of Saturn, which is also inhabiting the sign of Pisces is in a last quarter square to Mercury in the sign of Sagittarius. This is the third and final square it will be making since it moved forward momentum on the 1st after being retrograde. Whatever it was that you were learning and reflecting on during the retrograde cycle is now asking to be acted upon as a way to resolve. This can be revolving around your own personal truths seeing as Mercury is still in the sign of Sagittarius and ruled by Jupiter in Taurus. What were you reflecting on and internalizing during the retrograde? What did you come to understand about yourself? What values and needs have you expanded upon? What needs to be dissolved in order to clear and make room for the new you? The last quarter square is a call to act on this process and to follow through. Vesta is a part of this T-square and is in the sign of Gemini. This speaks to us keeping the inner sacred flame alive and continuing to be curious about our own self-discovery. The tension can be high because again, the last quarter phase can be a crisis in belief. What do I believe? The truth? Or what you hope or the potential (not the truth)? It is important to get very clear about this and then to make choices based off of that foundation.

On the 9th, the Sun in Capricorn will be in a first quarter trine to Uranus in Taurus. The Sun is about how we integrate life and self-actualize. With the Sun in Capricorn, it goes back to how are you being your own authority? How are you taking responsibility for your own evolutionary growth and emotional dynamics? With a first quarter trine things could be at an evolutionary standstill and could be highlighted, with Uranus in Taurus in the mix of this astrological conversation we are asked to objectify our own relationship to self and to liberate from any conditioning that is getting in the way of transforming our relationship to ourselves. The call is to be self-determined to do so and the way we do so is through self-reflection and objectification. Then making a correct judgment on what no longer is serving us. This is also about reflecting on relational needs and values, what do you need? How can you meet those needs for yourself? Relational needs aren’t about ‘I need you to do this because I am not doing it for myself’. Needs can look like, “I need and value a partner who is just as self-determined for growth as much as I am”. This is a day to really take a look at projected needs and expectations and then getting very clear on how to meet your own needs and then to objectify what you actually value.

Saturn in Pisces is also in a crescent phase sextile to Jupiter in Taurus. As we objectify our reality and wash away the old, we then can have an ease of integration of what we are expanding upon. What we give meaning to and how that correlates with what we value. There is a need to reflect on old conditioning and how our beliefs about ourselves affect our relationship to self. Whatever information that is based in truth and not just a belief can really be implemented if this is consciously worked with. Both of these astrological conversations will be ongoing during the Capricorn New Moon that happens on the 11th.

With the New Moon on the 11th happening in the sign of Capricorn, we have several astrological conversations happening at this time. Let me break down this New Moon. A New Moon represents a birth of new emotional content from within to be worked with for the next six months. This New Moon will be felt most strongly by those who have a planet at the same degree give or take to this Moon. This New Moon is happening at 20°. This New Moon is also ruled by Saturn in the sign of Pisces.

It is interesting to think about how during this New Moon in Capricorn that we have Mars (our desires) in the same sign and ruled by the same planet. Pluto, the Soul is also in Capricorn ruled by Saturn in Pisces. We can assume that on a collective level there is a desire to set into motion a birthing process of how to step outside of the status quo of what we have known and been conditioned to do. How we have structured reality in the past and the need to culminate and dissolve the old in order for a new birth of self and foundation to come to fruition. This birthing process is about how we interact with the world, how we desire to show up in the world and if we are being integral about it. On the collective level old societal structures are wanting to be dissolved so that new structures can be implemented. On a personal level this can look like restructuring our consciousness itself through grit and self-determination. This means that we emphatically have to step outside of the status quo of the known and familiar way.

Venus in Sagittarius is in a disseminating trine to Chiron in Aries. Chiron ruled by Mars in Capricorn and Venus ruled by Jupiter in Taurus. Venus and Jupiter are in mutual reception. With Chiron in Aries, we have been confronted with old wounds that serve the catalyst for growth. These wounds can pertain to where we had been hurt early on around the areas of life that were about our own self-leadership. Our ability to become what we desired or what we desired to do. These wounds could also pertain to where we had another’s anger projected onto us through their projected expectations of who we ought to be or have been. In return, we could have been faced with the reality that we ourselves ended up hurting others through those same dynamics later on because we never acknowledged the hurt we felt growing up. For some this can bring up childhood neglect and abandonment. How it affected our sense of being able to go after what it was that we wanted or needed to in life. Lessons in how to be responsible with our choices and actions and how another not doing the same affected us early on. This is especially true if Chiron is making a direct connection to your own natal chart. For some it is looking at the violence and anger that we endured early on and how it affected us and our relationship to ourselves. How we interact with the world around us.

With Venus in Sagittarius, we have and continue to call upon rediscovering who we are in an authentic way. There is a teaching with this transit of honoring our truth and authenticity and to continue to explore and discover just what that is. How to be self-honest. With Jupiter in Taurus and both in mutual reception there has been a need to expand upon our inner relationship to self and to not get too stuck in one way of doing things. This is the self-explorer spirit that comes to mind with these two being in mutual reception. The more one explores oneself, the more one knows oneself, then through knowing oneself one can show up truly authentic. Wounds and all. With Chiron in a disseminating trine to Venus in Sagittarius we can access this information with more ease and to integrate it fully as a way to develop scar tissue around old wounds that are represented by this transit of Chiron. Wounds will always still be there with Chiron, but the lesson is in how one interacts with those wounds and shapes the awareness from them. With Chiron being ruled by Mars in Capricorn and approaching the North Node in Aries, we are called to act on the desires to take full responsibility for our relationship to self and the emotional healing work that is Universally needed with each one of us on an individual basis. These wounds once were our poison but can now be our potion by the direct experience and wisdom gained from the journey to self-discover and become. What responsible action can you take right now in your own healing journey and how does it align with your authenticity? “Wounds can become portals for others to heal”, this is a direct quote from Silvia Hill in her book titled Shamanism. This is why Shamanism is correlated to Chiron the ‘wounded healer’ archetype and the sign of Sagittarius which reflects Natural Law. With Venus in Sagittarius this reflects this naturally occurring law further and speaks to ‘walking our talk’ through our authenticity and showing up as we are, within our personal truth. When we pull in Mars in Capricorn further, it speaks to how we are to show up in the world in our WHOLENESS or WHOLINESS. This means being integral with our actions and impeccable when doing so. Impeccable was taught to me by one of my teachers as “being integral in actions with how you are and who you present yourself to be”. How do you use your wounds to show up in the world? Is it through reaction of wounds, or the wisdom from the direct experience you gained from those wounds? The flip side to Capricorn when not expressed naturally is hypocritical and self-righteous. When we haven’t been on the journey to changing our awareness revolving our wounds, we can then project onto others how they ought to be. This projection is that which we wish we were doing for ourselves, but not. Appearing one way but doing things very differently on an internal level. This whole dynamic really pulls into the Capricorn New Moon. Part of the self-actualization process and hero’s journey is to be vulnerable and to act in integrity with the wisdom we gain from this time of self-reflection of these types of dynamics. To integrate life through our own self-determination regarding our healing.

Jupiter is also in a disseminating trine to Mars, so the rulers of Chiron and Venus are also in the same conversation. This further reinstates what was just mentioned above and how this can be easily accessed and easily integrated if we have the courage to consciously and sincerely do so.

Saturn in Pisces is in a last quarter sextile to Mars in Capricorn. As you are healing and restructuring reality, how are you putting this out into the world creatively? With this being a new moon while this conversation is occurring, we are called to courageously look at our ideals around who we are, who we are meant to be, how we show up in the world, and how we show up with others. This is a signature for being able to help another through correct boundaries and judgment.

The Sun is square the Nodal axis which really speaks to this being a six-month period of where we are meant to do the above and if not this could potentially create skipped steps down the road. The key is the word impeccability.

On the 12th Uranus will inconjunct the South Node in Libra and Venus the ruler of both will be inconjunct Jupiter. This is a time period of self-correction and the willingness to continue to liberate from old ways of being and doing relationships with others, whether they be friends, family, significant other, or any one-on-one personal relationship. Self-correction comes through the function of objectifying one’s own feelings and inner relationship to self and rebelling from anything that no longer serves. This can also be self-correction in showing up authentically instead of masking or hiding who one is. This segways off of the Capricorn New Moon dynamics and gives us the time to self-correct and refine through the information we are seeking and coming to know about ourselves.

On the 13th Mercury will re-enter back into the sign of Capricorn right after it was semi-sextile to Pluto while still in the sign of Sagittarius. Whatever you have been discovering and attempting to do or were working up the courage to do is now being asked to have correct judgment about. This means that throughout the Mercury retrograde period there have been instances when we did something or wanted to do something and now it can be done if we make the choice to do so. This also reflects the need to apply the information we have been gaining about ourselves in an authentic and integral way so as to restructure our lives. The need is to culminate the past through applying the knowledge we have been garnering and the wisdom we have gained through self-reflection.

I hope everyone has a beautiful week and I will be posting the New Moon Video this week as well so we can do an even deeper dive into this energy! Let’s remember that this is the first New Moon of the New Year and it really is setting the stage. The prayer of this New Moon and week is one of using all of the gained insight, growth, and wisdom from last year and to now apply it wholeheartedly as a way to set the foundation of this new year!

Much Love and Gratitude,

Jordyn
