Dec 13: Mars in Sagittarius perfects its square to Neptune in Pisces

From December 7 to December 11 Venus will be building into her square to the lunar south nodes. She perfects this square on the 11 of December. This brings dynamic tension in regard to the past emotional dynamics (lunar south node) being brought to a head. In tandem with the dynamic tension of needing to create new action in order to evolve. Evolve what? Venus. Our inner relationship to self and how the dynamics of how we inwardly relate our mirrored within our relationships with others. On the 11, Venus perfects her square to the lunar nodal axis with the lunar south node being the resolution node. This reflects that in order to move forwards (lunar north node) we have to revisit a key theme of our past and to discern a new choice that must be implemented. This new choice reflects resolving the past dynamics when we make a correct judgment call. Venus is also septile Pluto in Aquarius during this time. A septile in Evolutionary Astrology correlates with the famous ‘Y’ in the road. Two choices that both appear correct emerge. Yet only one of those choices is the one that should be taken in order to evolve. If the correct choice is not taken, later on down the road something will manifest in order to get us back on track. With Venus in Sagittarius there is an emphasis on trusting the inner intuition through the inner voice. With Venus being ruled by Jupiter in Cancer retrograde we are re-visiting themes around our intuition, our gut feeling, and our emotional truth. The need to be emotionally honest with ourselves about what ‘feels correct and right’. With Pluto in Aquarius forming a septile to Venus in Sagittarius we are called to observe what feels honest and true for each one of us. No matter the situation that is presented before each of us. This means that we have to observe the voices within that could be clouding our inner judgment and intuition. To liberate from those voices and to trust ourselves.

This pulls in Mercury in Scorpio, being the ruler of the lunar south node; the resolution to the Venus square the nodal axis. Mercury at the beginning of the week is in a quintile to the lunar south node. This is in a crescent phase. This denotes understanding what the creative purpose is that was first initiated when Mercury was conjunct the lunar south node. That conjunction took place on September 11, 2025. There is a deep Soul knowing of how one is meant to actualize. The key with all of these energies is to listen from within and to utilize that inner knowing. Even if that means developing the ability to trust ourselves. This also means we are called to express our own emotional truth as a way for us to heal individually. Expression of our emotional truth can be done in a multitude of ways and is individual to each one of us.

Throughout the week building up to Venus’ square the nodal axis we are gearing ourselves up to rectify a past situation where we might have not felt ready or good enough to implement necessary action. This is a re-do in order to resolve. It is an opportunity to expand on our emotional truth and what feels true, in general, for each of us. What feels authentic to our own evolutionary growth. To not deny that inner truth when an external or internal event triggers something from the past. To make a choice that might not have been made in the past, yet, we wished it had been.

Mercury helps us to know with the quintile to the lunar south node. The knowing comes from prior direct experience and messages from within our Soul. Venus septile Mercury’s ruler, Pluto in Aquarius, is about not making excuses when the ‘Y’ in the road presents itself. It asks for us to liberate (Pluto in Aquarius) from old patterns of not listening to our ‘inner knowing’ in the past. To not do what we have done by rationalizing or dismissing what is felt and sensed to be true. What is true for you? Then go from there. This helps to purge the past dynamics and then to make correct choices. These choices or choice is one that utilizes discernment dealing with the apparent situation versus the actual situation. Not the apparent truth but the actual truth. Honoring the actual truth of the actual situation. Not what we hope it to be. A choice made with discernment when we honor what is actually occurring.

On Dec 7 as these other astrological conversations are happening, the Sun in Sagittarius is forming a last quarter square with asteroid Lucifer in Virgo. Lucifer is also ruled by Mercury in Scorpio. Lucifer is also in a new phase to the lunar south node now. Lucifer is also septile to Mercury in Scorpio, its ruler. Lucifer has been helping to bear light on our emotional and psychological dynamics that have played out and are no longer relevant for our evolutionary growth. It has been the bearer of light pertaining to our most vulnerable and tender emotional places and how we react when those are triggered. Lucifer has also been the bearer of light on our fears around moving forward and where we deny the actions we know we are meant to take. These dynamics are what has been hidden within the shadows of our consciousness and have now been brought into the light. With Lucifer in a new phase to the lunar south node and square the Sun in Sagittarius, we are called to create action through the strength of our own will. This action as a bottom line is going to correlate with our truth, our emotional truth, and what it has been teaching each one of us individually. The last quarter square from the Sun to Lucifer is what we call in Evolutionary Astrology a ‘crisis in consciousness’ or a ‘crisis in belief’. This is very much doubled down with the Sun in Sagittarius. The sign that reflects the difference between belief and truth. The square gives us an opportunity to utilize our WILL from within our Soul (Scorpio) to self-actualize (Sun) how we are giving purpose and meaning to our lives. Through denying (Virgo) our truth (Sagittarius) or through having the courage to take action that aligns with our authentic soul purpose?

Mars in Sagittarius is inconjunct Jupiter in Cancer retrograde. Jupiter rules the Sun forming a square to Lucifer and Mars. The inconjunct between Mars and its ruler, Jupiter, is an aspect that has a Virgo like feel to it. There is a sense that there is something that must be done and is needed, yet it knows all the areas where there is still growth that is meant to be had. It is an aspect in this phase that denotes needing to get out of one’s own way. This means that there are always rational excuses as to why we can’t or shouldn’t do something. Yet, in order to improve we have to take action (Mars) so we can receive feedback. The feedback helps us to improve. Without action, there is no feedback from our environment. Mars in Sagittarius asks for action that is in alignment with what is felt as authentic. Through that action and with Jupiter facilitating this, we then expand on our own emotional truths to gain more feedback. This helps us to understand ourselves even deeper. This also helps us to discern what has been a false belief that we have become secure with. That being something that needs to be counteracted with an actual truth.

On Dec 8 Mercury perfects its trine to Saturn in Pisces. This is a disseminating trine. This helps us to understand what and how we want to express what it is we have been coming to understand. This is an aspect that brings clarity, yet there can be a tiredness when it comes to the dynamics we are sharing or expressing about. Something is wanting to culminate pertaining to our internal structures and yet it is meant to be shared with others. We may feel we have moved on from the dynamics surfacing and yet, in order for it to be culminated it must be shared and expressed with others. This means that healing (Pisces) happens when we share and express what has been understood. Healing happens when we share that wisdom (Saturn) we have garnered from our experiences. This gives a higher purpose and meaning to what we have gone through and come to understand deeply about our individual journey and our journey that is shared with others.

While Mercury trines Saturn, Mars squares Saturn. This is in a last quarter phase. The last quarter phase brings to the surface two extremes from within our consciousness. On the one hand to hold onto the familiarity of the known and past. On the other hand, to challenge what has come before, the past. Mars asks for action. To make a choice. Holding onto the past is a choice just as much as challenging it is. This is where we can choose to make the choice to overcompensate (Sagittarius) for our fear by holding onto what is known, or where we can lean into what is authentic for each of us. Through leaning into what is natural and authentic for each of us individually we are making the choice (Mars) to challenge the past. This also means challenging past beliefs that have become secure for us to identify with (Jupiter in Cancer rx) that aren’t authentic to our Soul. This is dealing with how we have structured our reality through conditioned beliefs around our relationships (Venus square the nodes and also ruled by Jupiter). Where we are challenging values that don’t align with our authenticity. How we have gone about relating to others through cultural and societal values, or where we have related to ourselves and others through our natural values. When we have the courage (Mars) to challenge the past it gives us the opportunity to explore what is authentic and true for each of us. What is resonating within our consciousness. Through creating this action it restructures our consciousness through culminating the past. This is because we are learning a new way of relating from within. Not from the linear, left, logical. It is through the right, intuitive, inductive side from within. The truth is felt and the feeling is trusted.

On Dec 10, Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus retrograde. This is a full phase. Uranus is ruled by Venus in Sagittarius. This reflects how we are called to throw off the past ways of contextualizing our relatedness to others and self. How we are called to integrate our higher mind that is accessed through our intuition. This is seen with Uranus’ ruler, Venus, who is in the sign of Sagittarius. Most have learned (Mercury) to dismiss our intuition and to rationalize in order to make a conclusion. When it comes to restructuring our consciousness and how we relate to ourselves, we must do it in a natural way. Each one of us have our own unique (Uranus) and Natural (Sagittarius) expression of our Soul’s individuality. The majority of us express ourselves through how we have been taught we ought to express. Not what is unique and natural. This opposition helps us to ground into our unique and natural expression of self. Through liberating from the conditioned messages that have created trauma within. Where we have suppressed what is unique and natural individually.

Neptune, the higher octave of Venus, stations direct in the sign of Pisces. As it stations, Mercury perfects its trine to Neptune. This is a disseminating trine. This clarifies the new choices that we are each needing to make when it comes to honoring our truth. How we are meant to express and share our actual truth (Neptune in Pisces) as a way to bring healing to our inner relationship to self. This changes the way we inwardly relate to ourselves. This then helps us to change what we attract into our lives. With Mercury in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces the clarity comes from KNOWING. It is known, Scorpio. The key is to not act on the new choice around what it is that is needing to be shared and to be expressed.

On Dec 11, Mercury re-enters the sign of Sagittarius. What has been come to be known throughout Mercury’s retrograde cycle it just had, is now wanting to be expanded upon (Sagittarius). Everything that has been building up to this point is now asking for action in order for new intuitive (Sagittarius) information (Mercury) to come through that helps to purge old information (south node in Virgo) that has created emotional dynamics where we have experienced inner and outer crisis. These crisis would pertain to old conditioned values and beliefs playing out in our external relationships. How that reflects how we have inwardly related to ourselves in the past. Now we are called to let our intuition and our gut lead the way. To be our guide on our journey. To not feel guilty or inferior for taking a path that feels in alignment with our individual truth. Our inner voice at this time can be strong. The key is to not deny it or to chalk it up as delusional. This is because on the 13, Mars in Sagittarius will perfect its square to Neptune in Pisces. Neptune is the ruler of the lunar north node. It shows what action and choices is meant to be made in order to evolve the prior emotional dynamics. Wherever the transiting nodes, their rulers through transit, and your own natal Mercury and Neptune in your chart will show what those choices are. This reflects the ongoing evolution of your consciousness and how it is meant to go about that evolutionary process.

This week we need to pay attention to the messages erupting from within our Soul. We need to pay attention to our gut and our intuition. We need to pay attention to our inner voice. Fear can surface, but this is a week that asks for us to trust ourselves and to have faith that the divinity from which we come from is also within. It is helping us. Our mind can tell us one thing, but the truth, it is always felt. It is from within that truth that is connected to the divine that we each can become inspired. Inspired to change, inspired to help, inspired to express. That seed of inspiration, whatever it may be, has the potential to expand our consciousness, and to heal old wounds. All we have to do is listen and follow through. Pisces asks for us to have trust and faith.
